Please would you help me find out about cellphones? And who invented them?

For this one we tried the Dogpile search engine and typed in history of the cellphone and clicked on go fetch.

There were some promising results but they need to be checked carefully. Remember, the top few sites in a Dogpile search have usually paid to be high up in the results list, so you need to read down a few lines to find other sites.

Wikipedia has some good information, but as this encyclopedia can be edited by anyone, you should always try to check other sources too. There's also a useful page at about.com (inventors section). However this site uses pop-ups and may not work through your computer, especially if you are logging on to this site at school or in a public library. 

TRY THIS: For many inventions you can find information about them on the How Stuff Works website. E.g. If you enter a search for cell phones there's loads about how cell phones work.

HOT TIP: Don't forget to visit your school library and public library as librarians love helping kids like you find answers like this! Libraries have great books on technology, inventors and their inventions.
