Where can I find out about what animals are poached and where this happens?

Level: Secondary

We really like the information on this topic which we found at the Encyclopedia of Earth. There's two ways to search:

  1. Just enter animal poaching into the search box in the top right hand corner and search the results list for articles
  2. Browse by topic from the options on the right hand side of the page (under the search box). Click on Animals and Society and then you will see a link to Poaching.

The World Wildlife Fund website also has some great background information on why animals are poached. From the homepage click on the tab for What we do and then under the box on Protect Wildlife click to 'read more'. From here you will see a section on the Wildlife Trade. Or you can enter wildlife trade into the search box to go there directly.

Hi Fred, it's true that our ManyAnswers website doesn't give you answers directly, but if you read the websites we tell you about, then you should find the information you need. The World Wildlife Fund website has changed its headings, so I've updated our steps for finding information about poaching on that site. For more help you can log onto http://www.anyquestions.co.nz between 1pm and 6pm Monday to Friday.
